Are the kids outside in the sun all day? Is there any shade?
This is a common question, so I'd like to address it here. Rest assured we provide ample shade and comfort for the kids each day to minimize their sun exposure while still having a blast at camp.
When we arrive at the beach each morning, we erect several large canopies (like "tents without walls"), so the kids can stay in the shade as often as they're in the water or sun.
We limit the kids' sun and water times to 40 minute activity sessions on a rotating basis. So, for example, if the kids are in the water for 40 minutes, for the next 40 they may enjoy a quiet beach game or arts and crafts project under the canopies until it's time to go back in the water.
Each day is structured this way, where it's 40 minutes (max) in the water or sun, then in the shade, and then back in the water, etc.
