Perception is NOT reality
Sometimes perception is NOT reality. In this case it's certainly not!
Yesterday I spoke with a mom on the phone who originally signed her son up to go jet skiing with us. Then, a few days later, she backed out because she had an perception in her mind that our jet skiing activity wasn't safe.
Did you know we have a 100% safety record?
No one has ever gotten hurt, lost, wandered off or anything else like that in the 10 years we've been running Aloha Beach Camp. As I always say, we live by a motto I picked up from an old sailing instructor a few years ago: "It it's not safe, we're not going to do it, and if it's not fun, we're not going to do it for very long."
I have three kids of my own, so I'm very sensitive to your concerns about camp saftey. It's a valid and important concern. But I hope you'll feel comfortable knowing we impose strict safety measures to keep your child safe at all times.
Our equipment (jet skis, surfboards, boats, etc) is top-of-the-line. Our staff is thoroughly trained, and we impose strict safety rules that virtually eliminate risk where it can be eliminated. Accordingly, you’ll be pleased to know that any risks you can think of are likely more perceived than actual.
One thing I hope you won’t do is deny your child a fantastic beach camp experience because you may have a misconception or misperception it might not be as safe a traditional camp. The truth is, there’s not another camp anywhere where your child will be safer than they will with us, and our 100% safety record proves it.
To learn more about beach camp safety, please visit my article, "Top 10 Ocean Safety Tips for Kids and Their Families" which has appeared in numerous publications and elsewhere. It's a valuable resource so your whole crew stays safe at the beach this summer, whether on not your child joins us at Aloha Beach Camp.
In any event we welcome your calls and emails to discuss safety in more detail. We’re looking forward to hearing from you.
