In other words, you should not feel rushed into making a decision about camp. Don't EVER let the camp director push you into a situation you're uncomfortable with. Making a summer camp decision for your child isn't one to take lightly. If you need time to think about it, you should definitely feel free to take all the time you need.
And yet, there's a few other factors to be cognizant of at the same time. One of the bigger ones is that the longer you wait, the greater the risk the camp you want will be sold out. Most summer camps have a finite number of available enrollment slots, and when the last spot's gone, it's gone for good. Many of the popular programs typically sell out sooner rather than later, so a conversation with the camp director about space availability is always helpful.
Of course, this all presupposes you already know which camp you want your child to attend this year. If you're unsure, or need help finding a suitable program for your child, we suggest attending a Camp Fair -- similar to a wedding expo, but for camps! -- where you can meet representatives from dozens of different programs and learn about their offerings all in one place.
Attend the L.A. Summer Camp Fair!
Aloha Beach Camp -- and about 50 or more other camps and programs locally and from out of state -- will be on display at the upcoming L.A. Camp Fairs.
The Camp Fairs encompass three different events where you can go booth to booth meeting all the various camp directors and camp counselors, ask questions, get free brochures, and compare all the different program opportunities available for your kids this summer. It's like a "one-stop-shop" to find a great camp for you, because all the camps and program vendors are coming together under one roof to showcase their programs just for you! And the Camp Fairs are totally free!
Here are the dates and locations of the L.A. Camp Fair events this year:
When you arrive at the Camp Fairs, please remember to visit us! Aloha Beach Camp will be exhibiting at all three Camp Fairs, so be sure to pick up a program directory from the Camp Fair organizers at the welcome booth when you walk in. Then follow the map right to our booth and we will have some fun and exciting surprises for you! For instance, you can spin our "Wheel of Fortune" and do other games and activities at our booth ... and you might even win free camp!
But remember, even if you don't choose Aloha Beach Camp for your kids this summer, we want your child to go to camp somewhere. So make sure you visit all the booths and discover all the great camps exhibiting at the Camp Fairs.
It'll will be fun and educational experience for the whole family!
